TRS3253E: VCC and logic level check

Dear Sir 

I have a application need RS-232 level converter for 3T3R, and the logic level is 1.8V.

I have two question.

1. 

Could I connect the logic signal of 1.8V to TRS3253E directly? Or I still need a level shifter(1.8V to 3.3V ) between logic signal and TRS3253E?

If I can connect with TRS3253E directly, I need set the VL=1.8V, right?

2.

I only have 3.8V on board, could I set the VCC as 3.8V? Or I must need to generate another voltage of 3.3V as VCC?

    Hi,

    1) Yes, you can directly connect 1.8V TTL signal to TRS3253E with setting VL=1.8V.

    2) You can use 3.8V as the supply. For C1~C4 configuration, please follow the recommendation of Figure 8 on the datasheet (C1=0.1uF, C2=C3=C4=0.47uF).
