Part Number: TUSB3410

Hi,

Previously from this forum I received an IrDA firmware for TUSB3410.

However, depending on the Linux environment used, it worked or not.

Using TUSB3410 as UART without EEPROM was fine in any environment.

PC/Ubuntu20.04 LTS with Linux 5.4

-> IrDAFW ok, noEEPROM(UART) ok

PC/Centos8.1-1911 with Linux 4.18.0-147

-> IrDAFW ok, noEEPROM(UART) ok

Tablet(MediaTek MT8167B)/Android8.1 with Linux 4.4.95+

-> IrDAFW fail(/ dev/ttyUSB is not generated), noEEPROM(UART) ok

Is there any limitation on the Linux kernel version when writing IrDA FW to EEPROM and using it?

  • this application should work with Linux kernel 2.6.1 or later

  • In reply to Brian Zhou:

    I clearly found that it is version independent after 2.6.1.

    And, after trying it on several versions and environments, I found that it relies on the tablet.

    Thank you.
