TUSB2046B: USB power exceed issue while plug on host...

Part Number: TUSB2046B

Dear Sirs,

My customer use TUSB2046B hub on their design!

However, when they plug to USB host, the Win10 can detect the device but there is warring message of "USB power exceed"....

Customer even did not attached any device on downstream ports, and they also found the 6MHz crystal did not work at this situation.

Could you help to give me suggest about the issue?

Thanks.

  • Hi Peter,

The TUSB2046B hub implementation is marked as buspowered and it appears that this host cannot support that configuration.  The customer will need to change the setting to BUSPWR = 0, and provide external power to power all the downstream ports.

A hub with unconnected downstream ports will enter suspend mode and the clock will stop running, that is why the crystal is off.

    Regards,
