DP83867IR: Recommended Magnetics for this above part mentioned

Part Number: DP83867IR

Hi TI team,
Could you Please guide us to choose the magnetics for the part (DP83867IRRGZT). We have choose some of the magnetics part 749020111A, 749020023A, H5015FNLT. Let me know whether we can use this part or please suggest some recommended magnetics component for the same part number.

  • Hello Vishuprasanth,

We recommend following part number :

    Pulse Engineering HX5008NL.

Also please have a look at datasheet section (9.2.1.1) for center tap connections.

  • Dear Vikram,
    Thanks for your support,

Due to the height issue in the PCB board, I looking for the equivalent part for the magnetics. So we have planned to have the component "749020023A" from Wurth Elektronik. Please share your thoughts whether this can be the equvalent part for the HX5008NL.
Also attached the snap of datasheet magnetics recommended section, schematics of both 749020023A and HX5008NL.

  • Hi Vishnu,

It will be able to get back to you after reviewing the datasheet next week. But we have'nt used this magnetic from Wurth on any of our boards so we will not have any silicon data.I hope that's ok.

  • Hi Vishnu,

I see that for following parameters "749020023A" are a bit inferior in-comparison with "HX5008NL" :

    1. Return-loss

    2. Cross-talk.

Though 749020023A's specs are good but we dont have the performance data with this magnetic. I am mostly worried about the cross-talk number being lower than the recommended magnetic.

If your system allows you to have HX5008NL as place-holder then it will be good to have that as back-up if you are system needs any electrical compliance tests (because this deviation should not cause any functional issues)
