DS90LT012AQ-Q1: Driving 50ohm transmission line

Part Number: DS90LT012AQ-Q1

Hi Team,

My customer is considering the DS90LT012AQ LVDS receiver. From the electrical specs it’s not obvious how this part can drive a 50ohm line with 350ps rising / 175ps falling edges if it can only source/sink +0.4mA/-2mA. That works out to roughly 500ohm/175ohm output impedance at dc.

Can this part drive a 50ohm transmission line or is it intended to only be located at the terminus?  Does the part have a higher dynamic current drive for driving a TTL signal into a 50ohm transmission line, or would we need to buffer the output?

Thanks,
Mitchell
