Hi Team,
I'd like to know why the recommended capacitance on PPHV for a sink role is much more higher than a source role.
Are there any specific reasons?
Thanks!
Roy

Hi Roy,
Let me check this with the team and I will get back to you shortly
Hi Roy,
The reason for increase of recommended capacitance is to help a sink system with voltage transitions and any transient loads. This capacitance also helps with any ripple that may come from the connected source. Also, if your systems want to support fast role swap, it will need to have a large capacitance to help slowly ramp down the voltage on VBUS so that the previous sink can become the new source.
