Generally this connection is OK, but please note that the recommended maximum sourced current from each P port is 10 mA. If this is still sufficient to illuminate your LED, you could ensure this current is not exceeded by adjusting your series resistance. If more current is needed, you could instead use the low-side configuration shown in the datasheet. In that configuration the P port can sink up to 25 mA.
