TPS65987D: Need SPI FLASH?

Hi Team,

I found in Table 42 Device Default Configurations on page 42 of the datasheet what happens when Config could not be loaded from SPI or I2C.

Is it possible to operate the 5V/3A Sink only with this setting without placing external memory?

I connected all SPI connections of USB-C-PD-DUO-EVM to GND and set a resistor (Configuration 2) to connect to ADCIN1, but it didn't seem to receive power from VBUS.

Do you need any other settings?

I realize that this device needs SPI FLASH externally, but it seems to work by default with this setting.

Need SPI FLASH?

Doesn't it work without SPI FLASH?

Hello Kenji,

You also need to see what dead battery configuration you are putting the TPS65987D into based on the resistor you are connecting to ADCIN1. The configuration is one aspect to it, but the dead battery condition also effects the results since the sink board is not receiving power on VIN_3V3
