TCAN1042H: go to sleep mode question

Part Number: TCAN1042H
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1043

Hi,

customer want to use the standby mode to Go-to-Sleep mode, but don’t know how to set the WEKERQ cleared (Flag)? Would you teach them? Thanks.

  • Hello,

It sounds like although you mention the TCAN1042 part number, you may really be asking about TCAN1043 - is that correct?  If so, the state diagram given in Figure 21 of the datasheet gives the best description of how to transition between the different modes of the device and Table 1 gives a description of the various internal flags.

WAKERQ is an internal flag that is set either at initial power-up or when the device receives a wake request (either via WAKE terminal or via wake-up pattern detection on CANH/CANL).  When set, it blocks the transition to go-to-sleep mode.  So, it is necessary to clear this flag before going to sleep.  The flag is cleared by transitioning to normal mode, which is accomplished by pulling EN and NSTB high (to VIO).

Please let me know if this is unclear or if you have further questions.

    Regards,
    Max
