TUSB3410: Load EEPROM without host

Part Number: TUSB3410

Hi Team,

May I consult you experts a few questions below?

      (1) If we want TUSB3410 to load the content of the external eeprom without a host IC, could we just assert or generate a hardware reset to it?

      (2) From (1), is it possible to load EEPROM during power on? Does that mean we need to have a power on reset circuit to trigger the access?

Thanks

Sincerely,

Edward

  • Hi Edward,

    1. Yes, if TUSB3410 sees a reset it will look to the EEPROM to reload the FW.

    2. Not sure if I understand your question but you will need some reset reset circuit on the RESET pin. This is typically just a 15k pull up to 3.3V and a 1 uF cap. You can refer to the TUSB3410UARTPDK schematc for a reference circuit.

    Hi Malik,

        Thanks for your reply.

If we want to modify the EEPROM to set the GPIO to be output with initial high after powering on, do we have the descriptor or mapping table?

That's help to modify it accordingly.

    Sincerely,

    Edward

    Hi Edward,

Unfortunately GPIO functions are fixed in the FW. Functionality can only be changed in the source code that we provide in special circumstances.

    Best,

    Malik
