TPS65987D: alternate mode

Hi Team,

My customer considers using TPS65987D for DisplayPort alternate mode application.
They just wants to transmit DisplayPort signal only so there is no USB controller in their system.
I would like to ask two questions.

1)
I believe supporting USB2.0 is mandatory if they use "USB Type-C alternate mode".
Is my understanding correct?

2)
I also believe supporting billboard is mandatory if they use "USB Type-C alternate mode".
Is my understanding correct?

Hi Yaita,

1. At the minimum USB requirement for DP dongle is to support USB Billboard, which lets the OS know that if the DP dongle is connected to a Type-C port that does not support DP alternate.

2. Billboard is mandatory.

Thank you for your support.
I understand TPS65987D doesn't natively support billboard and there is no USB hub in my customer's application.
Could you advise how to support billboard? Does TI have the solution?
