TUSB1044: I2C control in GPIO Mode

Part Number: TUSB1044

If I boot in GPIO mode (I2C_EN = 0), then do I still have part control of the CTL[1:0], FLIP, DIR[1:0] with the I2C interface, or are these now only controllable with the GPIO pins?

Can you boot in GPIO mode and then switch over to I2C or is this one or the other?

  • Hi,

If the TUSB1044 is boot in the GPIO mode, then CTL[1:0] and FLIP can only be controlled using the PD controller GPIO pins. The DIR[1:0] can be controlled using external pullup/pulldown resistors.

The I2C_EN pin is sampled at the power-up, you can'be change between the GPIO and I2C mode on the fly.

    Thanks
