DS90UB935-Q1: Non magnetic packaging of FPD-link devices

Part Number: DS90UB935-Q1

I am working on applications needing a high speed SERDES link inside an MRI scanner bore, and have purchased several of your devices to test for magnetic packaging. Using an N52 super magnet, I found the DS90UB935-Q1 to be non-magnetic.  I had also purchased the following FPD-Link, Channel-Link and SERDES devices from Digikey and Mouser: SN65LV1023ADBR, SN65LV1023ARHBR, SCAN920125H, DS92LX1621SQE, DS92LX2121SQE, DS92LV2411SQE, TLK1501IRCP, DS90UB925QSQX, DS90UB927QSQ, DS90UB913ATRTVTQ1, DS90UB933TRTVRQ1, DS90UB901QSQE, DS90UB903QSQE, DS90UB921TRHSTQ1.

All of these other devices were pulled by the super magnet.  Is there a particular package code that identified non-magnetic material in the package for the DS90UB935-Q1?  Are there other FPD-link devices that I failed to test that could have had non-magnetic packaging?

Second, I would like to know what is the minimum output serial line rate for the FPD links.  How far below the minimum specified pclk rates will they continue to operate?

  • Hi Greig,

I need to check with my packaging team and get back to you.

As for the minimum serial line rate, for the DS90UB935 d/s you can check table 7-6 to calculate the minimum serial line rate. We do not spec below our minimum voltage, so if you choose to violate our datasheet, we cannot verify/validate the operation.

    Thanks,
    Sally

  • Hi Greig,

After checking, we do not have a package code that identifies magnetic material in the package. We do not use the same package for all the devices, so I cannot comment on other device packages being magnetic or not.

    Thanks
    Sally
