TUSB8041: Jitter tolerance test, error occurs only for short channel, pass in long channel

Hello,

My customer has done a jitter tolerance test with TUSB8041.

Measurement point is at one up stream port and four down stream port.

in case of short channel, they observed bit error or link error at all port, but no error was observed in long channel.

It seems a strong equalization in receive signal.

Have you seen this kind of problem?

Could you please give your advise?

Hi Katsu,

This can typically be resolved by lowering the equalization provided by the BERT during the test. Please let me know if this helps.

Does changing of TUSB8041 configuration make the "lowering the equalization"?

On the other word, could you tell me how to make "lowering the equalization"?

Hi Katsu-san,

I am referring to the equalization setting of the BERT not TUSB8041. "Lowering the equalization" of the BERT would be done through the test software.
