DS90UB953A-Q1: circuit design for multiple camera interfaces

Part Number: DS90UB953A-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS5MP645

Current issue is that we want to interface different ports/connectors for different cameras which will be connected to our board an the DS90UB953A-Q1. But we want to serialize the incoming datas always with the same DS90UB953A-Q1.
So our questions are as following:
1) do we need a kind of MIPI CSI switch IC like the TS5MP645 for such an circuit?
2) do we need an FPGA for a better synchronisation of the whole adapter?

  • Heelo Jens,

do you mean you want to interface different Image sensors to the same SER?

Are these image sensors on one the same board or each image sensor is on seperate board?

What is the type of connector/Interface between SER and Sensor?

  • Hello Hamzeh,

--> yes, we want to interface different sensors to the same SER. But never to the same time.

Since especially MIPI CSI cameras offer different connector plugs, we want to provide several connector types to which different cameras can be connected.

--> Each image sensor will be at a seperate and also external board. We just want to build the SER board to which different image sensors can be plugged.

--> The interface between the sensor and the SER will and should be MIPI CSI.

But as I tried to explain we want to provide different connector options.

    For example:

We want to offer the oppotunity to serialize

    1) one image sensor with MIPI CSI interface and the connector type QTE-020-01-F-D

    2) one image sensor with MIPI CSI interface and the connector type SFW22R-1STE1LF (FPC connector)

    with the same SER board.

Hopefully I was able to share with you our intention.

    Best regards

    Jens

  • Hello Jens,

    thanks for the clarification!

Yes, this device should be the correct solution for your usecase!
