Dear TI - Team ,

we are working for ADAS Project for Trucks which are approx. 20m long , we have a camera setup with serializer DS90UB913 and output is LVDS Coax cable , we need a suitable de-serializer and also a repeater setup which can boost the signals for long distance (20 m ) LVDS signal.

Kindly suggest what setup or repeater we need to use in between serializer and de-serializer to get long distance (20m ~ 30m) LVDS communication.

Hi Prasad,

913A/934 is based on bi-directional communication to transmit some control signals over the coax cable. so:

1. if you select the equalizer, it only can transmit the forward channel signal, you can't control or visit 913a through i2c. for this, you need set the 913a working mode through local

2. you can also have 913a -> 934 & 913a -> 934 solution, here, you use 934/913a as repeater to transmit the signal over 2x10m cable length.

btw, what is your PCLK freq.? generally the lower PCLK freq. the most reliable link.

Thanks for the reply , However we have few more queries based on your reply .

1. will DS90UB954 de-serializer suit to 913a serializer .

2. We initially thought of using a de-serializer and serializer board which act as a repeater , Do you suggest any suitable eval board which has De-serializer and Serializer in one board , which we can place in between as a repeater.

3. While going through TI portal i have come across one Eval board SN65LVDS100EVM , which i think acts as a repeater which can boost LVDS signal for long wire communication , kindly suggest if it can help us for our application. please find the below link for the same.

pls check below remarks.

1. Yes, 954 can be paired with 913a/933

2. sorry we have one 934/933 combo board

3. as mentioned, SN65LVD is digital-controlled equalizer, it only can support single direction. if you use this part, you need check if the bandwidth is over your line rate (dependent on PCLK freq.), also single direction can't communicate the control signal which required bi-direction. also, you need make 913a work in the correct mode (RAW10 or RAW12)

1. Then we will be using 954 de-serializer , thanks for suggestion.

2. Can you provide us online link for the eval board which has both Serializer and de-serializer in one board, so that we can see technical details.

3. Ok got it , it means repeaters are not suitable for our project (ADAS ).
