TCAN1042-Q1: Mode change time measurement problem

Part Number: TCAN1042-Q1

Hi,

my question is, in TCAN1042-Q1 datasheet page14,

the Tmode is the time when STB lower than 50% level to RXD lower than 50% level,

but when i set STB to "LOW", RXD not change, it still insist on HI,

what's the problem here?

thank you.

  • Hi Lin,

Sorry for the delay. The polarity of digital inputs and outputs for certain modes should be referenced on the various tables and charts of the datasheet. The timing diagrams are meant to illustrate different signal relations, but due to the way they are verified, the setup may be misleading in terms of signal polarity (note the circles on the inputs and outputs of TXD and RXD throughout these diagrams).

Table 4 provides a more readable explanation of pin states in different device modes.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Regards,
    Eric Schott

  • HI Eric

Thanks for your reply,  Can I understand that tMODE means that the time interval of STB corresponding to different signal states is %50 to 50%?

  • Hi Lin,

Yes, the timing parameters were measured using this threshold. Please note that the input logic level thresholds are different than this and can be found in the Electrical Characteristics section of the datasheet.
