I am not sure what you mean by "Could you help check if TPS65983B is a good alternative to TPS65983B". However, the TPS65987D is the next generation device that replaces the TPS65983B. Please let me know if I am understanding your question correctly.

Hi Art,

Do you need to support two Type-A ports, a Type-B port, and a Type-C port? The TPS65987D can support one Type-C port and the TPS65988 can support two Type-C ports. Depending on your system need, one of these may be a good fit here.

Below are the response from the customer in verbatim:

1. You suggested us tps 65987d in the previous email. You said one other ic got two usb c outputs, other one got one type c out put. Those type c output ports just work as only out put ports or can we use them as input ports as well? For example, there are chips which support type c ports as input/output ports, so we could use one of those ports to charge the battery pack as well as well as drain.. ?

 2. Also should we program the tps 65987d chip or they are pre programmed for Power delivery?

 3. Thirdly do you have a typical schematic diagram for tps 65987d chip drawn for 7.4v battery pack ?
