Can we use UB948/947 for repeater to extend 25m distance?

    Hello Ian,

    Yes, this is a valid use case. The 947 and 948 can be connected back-to-back + I2C bus, and can be used like this!

    But 948 is not compatible with the 913A. For this purpose I would recommend you use the 933 + 934 as a repeater.

    Hi Hamzeh,

    1)  What is the delay induced by this repeater?

    2)   Is the repeater fully transparent to the bidirectional communication between HMI (ECU) and camera? Can the HMI (ECU) control camera characteristics in any way, like crop configuration etc?

    3)   Additional PoC filters for repeater can lead to loss of power and drop in voltage levels. Do you think there will be any loss of signal quality or impact on HMI display?

    Hello Ilan,

    1) As per the datasheets, the 947 has a delay of 294T, and the DES delay is 147T.

    2) Yes. Make sure you connect both devices I2C ports together on the repeater board.

    3) If the PoC filter is designed well, it should not affect the signal quality much.
