TUSB1002A: Location and Equalization

Part Number: TUSB1002A

Hi,

Below is the diagram of my project.

Application: USB3.2 (5GHz)

CH1_EQ[2:1] is for path from PCH to Re-driver

CH2_EQ[2:1] is for path from re-driver to receptacle

Question:

1. Since the equalization is based on the loss on RX. For the channel labelled with green, the loss from USB port to Re-driver is 2dB, from re-driver to PCH is 13dB. By using RX equalization method, we would only set to compensate the Rx loss which is 2dB. In this case, the PCH will still receive a signal with 13dB loss because the signal loss after re-driver is not equalize. In this case, the PCH still able to catch the signal correctly ?

2. Assume the the losses stated above are the losses due to trace length only. Can you recommend the equalize settings for channel 1 and channel 2 ? (blue and green respectively)

Thank you.
