TPS25750: How to connect with TypeC MUX

Part Number: TPS25750
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUXHS4212,

Hi team,

Our customer is considering TPS25750 as a PD controller and TMUXHS4212 as TypeC MUX.

In Figure 9 of the datasheet of TMUX4212, there is a connection of PD controller and SEL pin.

Could you tell me how to configure TPS25750 to select port of receptacle?

Regards,

Hideki

  • Hideki,

The TPS25750 has the ability output the status of the type-c polarity on a GPIO and is fully configurable through the GUI.

If you can provide me a very high level description of their port that is ok for public viewing, I can recommend the best starting configuration and provide guidance on how the use our configuration GUI to meet their system needs.

The configuration GUI is located at :

  • Hi Chuck,

    Thank you.

I think you mentioned TPS25750 Application Customization Tool > Configuration > IO Config > GPIO Mapped Event.

I looked up the Technical Reference Manual, then I don't know which events can send out the type-c polarity. Could you explain which event can be useful for this case?

    Regards,

  • Hideki,

The Event that is used for detecting the cable polarity (flipped or non-flipped) is cable_orientation_event_port1
