TCAN1042HV: Power up/down Sequence

Part Number: TCAN1042HV
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1043-Q1

Hi there,

I found that there's another E2E post talking about the power sequence of TCAN1043-Q1 and the conclusion is that there's NO specific power up/down sequence.

Therefore, I'd like to know if that's the same for TCAN1042 (Vcc & Vio).

Thank you!

Best regards,

Roy Hsu

  • Hi Roy,

There is no required power sequence for TCAN1042 either. If VCC is available while VIO is not, then the device will remain in an undervoltage lockout state (I/Os high impedance) until VIO is available. If VIO is available while VCC is not, the device can be operated either in lockout mode or in standby mode (in which bus traffic is monitored for wake-up patterns) depending on the state of the STB pin. You may want to refer to Table 3 in the datasheet for further information.

    Best regards,
    Max
  • Hi Max,

    Thanks for the detailed explanation!

I think it'd be great if the explanation could be included in the datasheet!
