TPD4E05U06-Q1: Using r TPD4E05U06QDQARQ1 with Ethernet RJ-45 Connector

Hello, I'm a little confused how to wire up the TPD4E05U06QDQARQ1 to an RJ-45 connector for Gigabit Ethernet. Here is what I have so far:

I've been reading the datasheet and I don't understand the "Straight-through" function of the NC pins, page 2 and 12.

Do I have it wired up correctly?

Joe,
The NC pins can be connected through the pin across from it. Pin one “flows through” (the copper trace connects) to pin 10. Pin two can be connected through to pin 9 and so on.

Hello, are you saying it should look like the figure on page 9 on
www.ti.com/.../sszb130c.pdf

This connects the TX+ to the TX-.

Is that right?

Joe,

You are close. Now short pin 1 and pin 10, pin 2 and pin 9, pin 3 and pin 8, pine 4 and pin 7 pin 5 and pin 6.

Also connect pin 3,8 to GND

Joe,
That is correct, however you will want to put the device on the other side of the transformer (between the transformer and phy) because the common mode voltage on that side of the transformer can be much higher than the working voltage of the TPD4E05U06 5V
