TCAN1042H-Q1: IC failure during short to battery test with 60V on CANH line

Hello Team,

One of my customer tested, short to battery (+60V) for the CAN bus line within the rating given in data sheet for TCAN1042HV-Q1

Actions and Observations:

1. We connected CAN H( 7th pin of IC) to +60V(Bench level with regulated power supply)
2. We observed heating of IC and later device failed as per customer

Please clarify the given parameters for VBUS in the datasheet.

Is this method of testing correct or additional passive components are needed for protection?
