Hello,
I'm designing a USB-C audio dock. When a device (PC, smartphone, etc) is plugged in, initially the host (DFP) will provide power to the audio dock. While plugged in, ideally the audio dock should charge the host, so the power roles must be swapped later on.
I'm looking for an IC that accomplishes the following:
1. Automatically (or via I2C commands) swaps the audio dock's role from a sink to a source.
2 Does not require an external EEPROM. Must be able to be configured via I2C or HW pins.
3. Voltages higher than 5V are not needed on VBUS.
I'm assuming the TUSB321 doesn't support dynamic power role swapping.
The audio dock will always have power, so there doesn't seem to be a need for Fast Role Swap (audio dock suddenly loses power and data transmission must be preserved). Is there another way to switch power roles via USB-PD?
Thanks.
