TUSB4041I: schematic check

Part Number: TUSB4041I

Hi

OCP (not used)
PWRCTL (not used)

Option ROM (not used)
(Is there any special needs to keep this? If you really want to fix something, I connect the system SMB, and the boot is registered by the BIOS. It should be OK?)

Please help check the TUSB4041I schematic as below , and any need to adjust ?

Thanks you

  • Hi Gareth,

It looks like the OVERCURxZ inputs are being used.  Those look correct.

I would not recommend connecting the SMBUS host to the hub unless a register modification is required.  If the hub enters SMBUS mode it will not operate as a hub until the SMBUS host sets the cfgactive bit.  Also, the SDA/SCL pins have internal pulldowns that can impact the I2C/ SMBUS.

Please note that the USB_VBUS pin is a detection input and should only be high when an active host is connected.

  • Hi Jmmn

    Thanks you

    1. OVERCURxZ not used now D1~D4 not install
    2. Okay, R9, R10 change to not install, So we don’t need option ROM circuit for this application?
    3. HUB function is always on when the system is power on, The USB_VBUS pin is supply system 5V always
  • Correct, ROM is not required for the application.

  • Hi JMMN

1.The H/W Strap setting is correct?

2.Can the Poweron1 pin be floating?

    Thanks you

  • HI Garerth,

Do not install R18 (SMBUS mode should not be enabled unless used), do install R13 (to indicate power management is not enabled).  A pulldown on TEST pin is recommended but not required.

PWRCTL outputs should be left unconnected if not used.

    Regards,

    JMMN
