TPS25750EVM: How does BQ25731 terminate charging when the external battery is used?

Hi Team,

I believe an external battery can be charged with TPS25750EVM (TPS25750+BQ25731).
How does BQ25731 that is mounted on TPS25750EVM terminate charging when the external battery is used?
I assume using Application Configuration Tool (GUI) for TPS25750 to manage the BQ25731.

I believe BQ25731 should be terminate charging by host control originally however BQ25731 is managed by TPS25750.
I couldn't catch how BQ25731 terminates charging the battery.
I would also like to know the value of termination current in this case.

Hi, Yaita,

BQ25731 terminates charging by setting CHARGECURRENT() register to zero, or setting CHARGE_INHIBIT bit in ChargeOption0() register. The termination current is determined by the host.

Hi Emma-san, Tiger-san,

I understand how to terminate charging from a point of view of BQ25731 however I would like to ask how TPS25750EVM terminates charging when the external battery is used.
I assume using TPS25750 Application Configuration Tool (GUI) to manage the BQ25731 however there is no parameter to adjust terminate current in GUI.

The information is necessary because my customer considers designing a Power bank application with TPS25750 and BQ25731 using the Application Configuration Tool (GUI).

Yaita,

The TPS25750EVM only supports on on board emulated battery. If you want to actually connect a board to an external battery, then you should use the USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01.

The charger termination needs to be executed by an external MCU based on the status provided by the BQ25731 host interface.

I would like to clarify the following.
1)
I thought TPS25750EVM was designed for battery charging applications because BQ25731 is mounted.
Is TPS25750EVM designed for non-battery applications?

2)
Do you refer TPS25750 Application Customization Tool does not support charging a real battery too?
If so, why the parameters of charging voltage and charging current are required to fill as the following?
