ONET4201LD: operating a LED

Part Number: ONET4201LD

Hi @ all,

is it possible to operate an LED with this module? My LED has a forward voltage about 6.5 V and a forward current from 10 - 30 mA. My intention is to minimize the turn-off edge of the source to some picoseconds. Ist it possible to drive such an LED with 6.5 V? In general, i will create pulses every 100 ms with an on time about 1 - 5 µs and a minimum of rising and falling edge.

Thanks in advance

  • Hello,

Thank you for the query. All the ONET drivers we have are meant for driving DFB, EML and VCSEL lasers, we do not have any for driving LEDs. Also, the speed of the application you mention seems to be < 1MHz range. Our ONET laser drivers are designed for high-speed communication applications > 1GHz.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Sri
