PCA9306-Q1: Pin

Part Number: PCA9306-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCA9306

Hi Team,

Please help with the VIH minimum and VIL maximum values for worst case noise margin analysis.

Thanks for the support and help.

  • Hi Shinu,

You may want to refer to this previous thread:

    e2e.ti.com/.../2130855

In short, this device doesn't have VIH/VIL requirements like a lot of other I2C devices since it merely passes signals through (rather performing a "buffer" function that would receive the signal and then re-drive it). When the voltage on either side of the PCA9306 is at least as high as VREF1, the device is high impedance and blocks current flow. When either side drops below VREF1, the device begins to conduct so that the "low" level being driven by the I2C device on one side propagates through to the other side.

I hope this makes sense - please let me know if anything is unclear.

    Regards,
    Max
