AM26C31: output issue

Part Number: AM26C31
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM26C32

Hi team,

There is an issue for the AM26C31 with non-symmetrical differential output.(ex: may caused by Y is with output but Z is no output)

The AM26C31 application is just send out data to the AM26C32.

The schematic of the AM26C31 is attached.

Do you have any suggestions?

The terminal 390ohm should be removed or not?

Thank you!

  • Zoe,

Does the device still have problems when the bus lines are disconnected? If so, how about when the 390ohm resistors are removed? Also, does 390ohms match the impedance of the bus lines?

    -Lucas
  • Hi Zoe,

Have you had a chance to look into Lucas's questions? Or, has this issue been resolved? You may want to also verify that the connections are all properly made, since it would be unusual to observe an output from one half of the differential signal but not the other half.

If the problem persists, can you please let us know the status of the Z line when it has no output? Is it tracking the Y output, or is it at a constant voltage level (and if so, what voltage)?

    Thank you,
    Max
  • Hi Lucas and Max,

    Thanks for your reply.
After our discussing, we will try to remove the 390ohm resistors and wait the result from end customer.
I will let you know if there is any update.
    Thank you!
