MAX3243: MAX3243CDBG4 C1+- and C2+- pin connection

Part Number: MAX3243

The Receiver MAX3243CDBG4 has C1+- and C2+-,

These pin have to connect 1uF cap.

What are the function of these pin, and why need cap?

  • Robert,

This device uses a charge pump to increase, invert, and regulate the voltages at V+ and V- which supply voltage to the outputs. This method requires four capacitors which are external to the device.

C1 acts as a "flying" cap that charges the storage cap at V+ to 5v. C2 is used to invert this voltage and stores it on the cap at V-.
