TUSB211: 3m long USB cable...

Part Number: TUSB211
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB522P,

we have a USB cable that's pretty long (about 3M) and we want to boost the signal integrity on both USB2.0 and USB 3.0 speeds. We have three choices , first is to use a USB HUB ic at both ends of the cable and second is to use redrivers at both end of the cables and the last one will be to use a hub ic and a redriver .
Our application uses asynchronous transfer .
What is your recommendation and why

thank you for your support and time.

  • Hi André,

3m is not that long cable, I suggest only one TUSB522p for USB3 and one TUSB211 for USB2. 3m is still within the USB3 specification and the usage of two or more re-drivers (especially for USB3) may cause over equalization issues.

    Best regards,
    Diego.
