Hi

We are looking for the suitable level shifter for I2S.

If you had a similar study like following in the past, could you show me a recommendation?

- Clock speed : Max 192KHz

- 1bit IC for only DATA and 3bit IC for BLCK, LRCLK, DATA.

- 2.5V -> 3.3V and 3.3V -> 2.5V capable.

Are there any consideration for I2S level shifting?

Best regards,

  • Sorry for the delayed response - I was on vacation.

    Typically we recommend the TXB0104 for I2S. I will get back to you on the details of the selection process.

    Keep in mind that TXB0104 requires VCCA <= VCCB. This means two things:

    1. For a 2.5V to 3.3V translation, TXB0104 Port A faces the 2.5V interface, and TXB0104 Port B faces the 3.3V interface.
    2. For a 3.3V to 2.5V translation, TXB0104 Port B faces the 3.3V interface, and TXB0104 Port A faces the 2.5V interface.

  • Hi Nirav

    Thank you for your helpful information.

    We also considered following different approach.
    These are buffers.

    -3bit
    SN74LVC3G34

    We are assuming the use case as follows
    2.5V->3.3V : Vcc=3.3V
    3.3V->2.5V : Vcc=2.5V

    Do you think there are problems?

    Best regards
