TXB0108: how about the I/O driver current

hi sir

The data sheet show the output current ablity for I/O about 50mA,

But I use the resistor to lead the current about 40uA, Then the output voltage will drop down

Can you let me know the meaning? thanks

Hi Alex,

welcome to e2e !
I couldn't exactly follow your question about the device.
The 50mA you are referring to is the abs max current beyond which the device may be permanently damaged. I would not encourage to use that as a reference in designing and limit to the recommended current of 20uA.
Having pullup or pulldown resistor externally to the TXB device is also not advised. Please refer to the app note about this here below:

Alex,

The transistors internally are rated for handling abs maximum of 50mA of current, however, as I mentioned in the earlier post, this is the abs max ratings which I advise to not be used in your design calculations.
