SN74AVC4T245: Data sheet clarification.

Part Number: SN74AVC4T245
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74AXC8T245, SN74AXC1T45

Reference datasheet page 12, 13 and 14 www.ti.com/.../sn74avc4t245.pdf

According to the functional table If the OE is pulled High the operation will be Isolated. (page 13)

9.2 Typical Application (page 14) does this OE connection contradict the table on page 13?

Regards,

Naser

  • Naser,

The datasheet functional table and the description is right about the isolation (Hi-Z) of the IOs when OE pin is set high.
The application diagram has the pullup resistor to Vcca to show the default condition being hi-Z and when the controller overrides it with the active low signal, it resumes normal operation.
I do see some corrections which can be done on the application diagram on the cap values though, which I will note it for future revision.
  • Naser,

I will also request the customer to consider using SN74AXC1T45 and SN74AXC8T245 which we recently released, for evaluation in their application.
