ISO7741: CSA Certification between the DW and BDW variations of this part

Part Number: ISO7741

I am looking for differences between the ISO7741DW and ISO7741BDW, specifically the CSA certified max working voltage rating. The datasheet gives the below table column. It does not specify any difference between the two versions, but the B version is described elsewhere as suitable for only "basic insulation." Is the B version certified for 800 Vrms the same as the non-B version?

  • Hi Jamie,

Thanks for posting your question on E2E forum!

Yes, the CSA testing and certification levels are the same for both devices; so the B-version is certified to 800 Vrms level.

Please note that CSA has certified the device to end-equipment standards such as IEC 62368-1 but the B-version is only certified to Basic Insulation according to the component-level standard DIN VDE V 0884-11.
