ISO7041: Iso7041 Output not working

Part Number: ISO7041
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN6501, SN6505B, ISOW7741

Hello

I need your help

I have conneted a ISO7041 to my board

I have one Power supply connected to the VCC1 ( Pin number 1)  I have connected all other GND as well as the EN to the GND ( I use the ISO7041 F type)...

But from some reason I dont get any power on th eVCC2 ( Pin number 16 ) which is the Isolated

As far as i know , I need to connect a 3.3V on the Non Isolated pin and the ISO7041 should make a 3.3_ISO

Please advise

  • Hi Menachem,

Thank you for posting to E2E! I apologize for the confusion. Our ISO7041 device is a digital signal isolator only, which means it requires two external power supplies to transmit isolated data: its Vcc1 and Vcc2 pins are power supply input pins.

Independent power supplies are needed on each side of ISO7041, and if another power supply is available on the isolated side of the circuit, it can be used. If only one power supply is present in your system, it can be used to create an isolated power supply rail for the isolated circuit with one of TI's push-pull isolation transformer drivers, like SN6501 or SN6505B, or our isolators with integrated isolated DC/DC power converters like ISOW7741 can be used.

ISOW7741 is a four-channel digital isolator device with an integrated DC/DC converter that isolates enough power to fully operate the isolator and supply an additional 60mA @ 3.3V. It has the same channel count and configuration as ISO7041, so we recommend it as a replacement if you are looking for an integrated solution.

Please let us know if you have further questions.

    Thank you,
    Manuel Chavez
