ISO7740: current consumption in one channel or four channel total current in datasheet 7.1?

Part Number: ISO7740

Hi,

ISO7740 in datasheet spec.  7.1 Io output current shows one channel or four channel total current  as below?  I want to know it ,many thanks~

  • Hi Cooper,

Thank you for posting to E2E! The absolute maximum rating for output current that you have highlighted, IO, is a per-channel spec which indicates the maximum current that could be supplied by one output of the digital isolator before the device sustains damage.

Please keep in mind that this is the absolute maximum rating, and the device should be operated within its recommended output current condition which is 4mA (or less in some cases) per output to meet expected performance (Section 7.3 of the datasheet). Critical damage may occur once the absolute maximum ratings are met/exceeded.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Thank you,
    Manuel Chavez
