ISO3080: Maximum repetitive RMS isolation voltage/ surge voltage

Hello team,

my customer would like to know the RMS value of max repetitive isolation voltage. And they also need surge voltage result under  1.2/50us voltage surge test. Thanks!

    Hi Zach,

    Thank you for posting to E2E! The RMS value for repetitive isolation voltage of ISO3080 is ~395V, and it does not have a specified surge isolation voltage rating. Since ISO3080 is an older device, please strongly recommend ISO1412 to our customer: it is a newer isolated RS-485 device that is pin-to-pin compatible with ISO3080, is certified to more relevant isolation standards, and is available in Basic and Reinforced isolation options. Below are some of its isolation ratings:

    Thanks for your convincing reply! I would recommend the new device to our customer.

    One more question, is there any other other difference between ISO1412 and ISO3080 ( if there is a comparison table )?  Then I could better illustrate the upgrade to the customer. ~~~
