Hi,
Just want to confirm, is the ISO7710 output protected against short circuits?
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Maynard

Hi Maynard,
Thank you for posting to E2E! ISO7710 devices do not have integrated protection against short-circuit conditions on the output. They can only sink or source up to 4mA of current as specified in the Recommended Operating Conditions section of their datasheet, copied below:
Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Thank you,

Hi Maynard,
For clarity, the ISO7710 output pins are capable of sinking and sourcing >4mA, however our customers must limit current on the pins to be <4mA as specified in the Recommended Operating Conditions. The device itself does not have internal mechanisms limiting output-pin current. If higher loads are connected, the ISO7710 could continue to work, but it may violate some datasheet parameters and its long-term reliability could be affected, leading to a shorter device life.
Please do let us know if you have any follow up questions.
Thank you,
Manuel Chavez
