ISO7740: Minimum pulse width

Part Number: ISO7740

Hi,

The customer wants to know the minimum pulse width of the input signal.

The DS shows the maximum data rate.
max data rate 100Mbps-> 10ns period
At 50% duty, the minimum pulse width is 5ns.

The customer's system is not a perfect 50% duty and can be less than 5ns.

Best regards,

Hiroshi

  • Hi Hiroshi-san,

    Thanks for reaching out.

ISO7740 supports a maximum datarate of 100Mbps which is equivalent to a maximum of 50MHz clock signal. Hence, the time period would be 20ns or a bit width would be 10ns with 50% duty cycle. It is understandable that the input signal could have some variation in bit width times and it could be less than 10ns. This is okay, the device does accept some variation in input signal bit width variations.

We do not officially have acceptable variation defined, but I recommend to not have a bit width any less than 9ns. I hope this answers your question, thanks.
