ISO7310FC: Pin 3 Connection

Is it necessary to have pin 3 connected to VCC1 or can it be left floating. 

If it is necessary to have it connected to VCC1 which pin should the VCC1 decoupling capacitor be located nearest, pin 1 or pin 3.

    Hi Mhal,

    Thank you for posting, and welcome to E2E! 

    Pin 1 and Pin 3 of ISO7310C are connected to each other internally, so pin 3 can be left floating so long as pin 1 is connected to Vcc1. If both Pin 3 and Pin1 are connected to Vcc1, we recommend connecting the decoupling capacitors to Pin 1 and placing them within 2mm of the pin in your PCB layout.
