ISO7762: actual creepage distance for SSOP package

Part Number: ISO7762

Hello support team,

My customer inquires creepage distance. Datasheet 6.6 shows >3.7mm, but, the package out line figure shows min body distance 3.81mm. What is actual creepage distance? I assume that the creepage would be green distance.

Thanks,

Koji Ikeda

  • Hi Ikeda-san,

Thank you for posting to E2E! The creepage distance that should be used is the value shown in the datasheet table of >3.7mm for our DBQ-16 package. We specify minimum creepage distances for isolators to include all manufacturing tolerances and margin so that the actual measured distance will always exceed this spec.

Care should be taken to maintain the creepage and clearance distance of a board design to ensure that the mounting pads of the isolator on the printed-circuit board do not reduce this distance and fully preserve the isolation barrier integrity.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Respectfully,
    Manuel Chavez

  • Manuel-san,

Thank you for your support. But, they would like to know more exact min creepage distance. Could you support?

    Thanks,

    Koji Ikeda

  • Hi Ikeda-san,

My apologies, but we can only guarantee that the minimum creepage will be greater than 3.7mm per our datasheet.

    Thank you,
    Manuel Chavez
