ISO6740: Estimation on supply current

Hi team,

Could you give me comment on following customer questions?

Q1. When the customer doesn't use 2 ch out of 4 ch, the supply current - ac signal is proportional to the number of using channel. is it correct understanding?

Q2. When the customer will make unused pins (a) be opened or (b) be shortened to gnd, or (c) be pulled up to supply, will the supply current be changed depending on which (a, b, c) case is selected? If the supply current will be different depending on the (a), (b) or (c), which case will be least in terms of the supply current?

    Thanks for reaching out. Please see my inputs below.

    1. Your understanding is correct. The current consumption of the whole device depends on each channel and the inputs applied to those independently. If only 2 channels are applied with an AC signal, then only those 2 channels will see current specified for AC signal inputs.
    2. Yes, current consumption of each channel will be different for all the three cases - HIGH, LOW, OPEN. The below table from datasheet lists current ICC1 and ICC2 for the case when input is HIGH or LOW. To get individual channel current, you can just divide these currents by number of channels.
      1. When input is left OPEN, the internal pull-up (non-F device) or pull-down (F device) make the input HIGH or LOW, respectively.
      2. Connecting the input pin to a state same as default state will make the device consume least current. i.e., Connecting input to HIGH for non-F device and LOW for F-device will keep the current consumption low. This is going to be the same as leaving the pin OPEN as well.
