ISO7740: using one output channel as the circuit return

Part Number: ISO7740

Hi,

I just make sure that I can use one of the output channels of ISO7740 as the circuit return (see below). It is for turning ON/OFF a MOSFET gate drive chip and D1 is an emulated diode inside the gate drive chip.

Thanks,

Kaiyu

  • Hi Kaiyu,

    Thanks for reaching out.

If the current sourcing and sinking is under the datasheet recommended operations then it shouldn't be an issue. Please find below a table that lists out the recommended output source/sink current for given supply voltages. As long as these conditions are met, there shouldn't be any issues in operation or reliability. Thanks.
