ISO7710: Vcm Voltage Maximum

Part Number: ISO7710

We are planning to use the ISO7710 to isolate between +3.3V and -3.45V signals. I am looking at the datasheet and the only reference to Vcm is that for AC voltages the max is 1200V. Do you know what the max DC Vcm voltage is on this part?

  • Hello Patrick,

    Thank you for your question.
I am assuming that you are intending to use the device between two circuits that are sitting on two different ground references with a potential difference between them. If so, then yes ISO7710 can be used in such an application with a maximum potential difference of 1500Vrms or 2121VDC. This voltage is termed working voltage VIOWM for digital isolators.

The Vcm of 1200V listed for the test conditions of CMTI in the datasheet is the test voltage that the device is tested at.

Please confirm if this is what you are looking for. If not, please do help clarify your question.

  • You are correct, we would be using two different ground references and you have answered my question. Thank you for the quick response
