SN6507: sn6507 Rdc Equation

Part Number: SN6507

Hello

I have a question about the SN6507 Rdc Equation .

SN6507 Equation 1.

RDC = 0.816 × D × VCC × RCLK + 1 − 1

SN6507 Datasheet 22page.

" To achieve maximum input compensation, the DC is set close to 0.25 (25% duty cycle) at typical VCC (24 V).
The RDC is calculated as 240 kΩ by substituting DC = 0.25, VCC = 24 V, and RILIM = 50 into Equation 1, where
both RILIM and RDC are in kΩ. "

Rdc cannot be obtained from this content.

Should Rilm be modified to Rclk ?

I have one more question.
What is SSM and how to disable SYNC Mode?

Thanks & Best Regards.
  • Hi Leonardo,

    Thank you for reaching out.

    Sorry about the typo in the datasheet, we are aware of this and we are planning to get this corrected. Please see below the corrected version of the paragraph that you have listed out.

    SSM is Spread-Spectrum Modulation and is also referred as SSC (Spread-Spectrum Clocking) in the datasheet. This is a switching frequency modulation scheme to minimize the possibility for emissions.

    As stated in the pin-description section for CLK pin, SYNC mode can be disabled by either connecting CLK pin to GND to choose the default switching frequency (1MHz) or by connecting a a resistor to GND to choose a different frequency. The device can only be put-in in SYNC mode when external clock is applied to CLK pin, if there is no external clock is applied then the device is not in SYNC mode. Thanks.
