ISO7840: package damage conditions

Hello,

The failure of the ISO7840 device occurred in my customer's system that was installed in the field.

Damage is observed on the top of the package as shown below.

Could you please tell us the conditions such as surge level at which the package can melts as above?

    Hello JH,

    Thank you for your question. Damage to the package can happen whenever the the absolute maximum specifications are exceeded by a large amount. 

    For example, applying 100V to VCC with respect to GND could possibly damage the device in this way.
