SN6501: About the start-up mode limitation...

Part Number: SN6501

Dear Sirs,

According to the datasheet, the input min voltage is 3.0v, but this driver could be in the start-up mode if the voltage is above 2.4v.

Could I know what’s the limitation of this Start-Up mode? Lower output power or lower efficiency.. etc.

Thanks.

  • Hello,

Thank you for your question. As you noticed the SN6501 does require a minimum input voltage of 3.0 V for expected operation. It is not recommended to operate the device with a voltage under 3.0 V. The start-up mode described in the datasheet is not meant to be an operational mode and is included to clarify device behavior during the ramp up period. In order for the device to behave as expected, please use at least 3.0 V input voltage to set the device in its operating mode.

    Regards,

    Darrah
