ISO1541: Supply current sensitivity to humidity

Part Number: ISO1541

I have a question about the ISO1541, could the silicon dioxide (SiO2) barrier be sensitive to moisture?  Could that push its current drain higher? Have we tested this?

  • Hi Steve,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Unlike polyimide and other polymer based dielectrics, the reliability of an SiO2-based insulator does not degrade with exposure to ambient moisture. This is also one of key reasons for using SiO2 for chip manufacturing.

We conduct all the industry standard qualification tests which rates the device at Level 2 for Moisture Sensitivity Level (MSL) test. MSL rating primarily refers to moisture rating  for the shelf life of device. Thanks.
